Built by someone who gets it

Paul Fernkopf
Founder, Forge Hut LLC
Paul didn't set out to build an app. He served in the U.S. Army with the 1st Infantry Division, where every day had structure built in. After an honorable discharge, he started college, and all of that structure disappeared. He has ADHD and a learning disability that makes processing written text a daily negotiation. Without the military's framework holding things together, every productivity tool he tried assumed his brain worked like everyone else's. None of them did.
So in 2011, he built his own system. On paper. List the tasks, estimate the time, schedule productive breaks, and track whether the plan matched reality. It worked. He carried it into the Kansas Army National Guard as an Officer Candidate, and through over a decade in public safety.
He digitized it in 2014, but always went back to paper. The apps were too rigid, too complicated, and too focused on punishing you for losing focus instead of helping you find it again.
In 2026, Paul taught himself to code and founded Forge Hut, LLC. He built Ebbi the same way he builds everything: research exhaustively, prototype, iterate, and refuse to stop until it's better than what exists.
Every feature in Ebbi is grounded in peer-reviewed neuroscience and tested on the brain that needed it most: his own.
Paul lives in Kansas with his husband, three kids, three dogs, and four cats. Most Saturdays you'll find him in his shop, 3D printing something or building this very app. His husband rolls his eyes at both.
